Requirements & Guidelines

Before renting our scooters, please watch our instructional video above
and read our Requirements and Guidelines below

Requirements
  • Must be 18 or over with valid government issued ID.

  • Have a major credit card to reserve and pay for rental.

  • Complete and sign the French Quarter Scooters rental contract.

  • View the French Quarter Scooters instructional video and participate in a brief scooter orientation.

  • Operate the rental scooter in a safe manner.

  • Our scooters are intended for sidewalk use only.
Guidelines
Guidelines and highlights for French Quarter Scooter Rental Customers

DO’S

  • Ride on the sidewalk

  • Be AWARE of your surroundings – buildings, doorways and driveways, vehicles and pedestrians.

  • Use the bell generously and with a smile on your face.

  • Take the key chain with you when you need to leave the scooter outside of a shop or a restaurant.

  • Remember to engage the motion alarm when you leave it even for a few minutes. (and remember to disengage it when you return – otherwise it may go off and alarm you!)

  • Take bags and belongings in with you. Don’t leave anything valuable on the scooter. Not every one has caught on to Southern Hospitality.

  • Take the scooter into your hotel with you. It fits in a standard elevator, too, so you can take it to your room.

  • Make sure the scooter lights are on at dusk. And when you get off the scooter, please turn off the lights!

  • L’aissez les bon temps roulez! Let the good times roll, but…..

 DON’T

  • Don’t step on the front wheel covers!

  • Don’t be in a hurry.

  • Don’t text and drive or talk on your phone and drive. If you have to do it, stop the scooter. Take care of

  • business and then scooter on.

  • Don’t drink and drive.

  • Don’t put your feet on the ground until the scooter has come to a full stop and the key has been Removed
What if?
  • Don’t step on the front wheel covers!

    Call us at FQS. We can bring a charged battery to your location. There is an extra charge for this, however, so we AWARE of the charge indicator on your steering column. If it moves into the red zone, it’s time for a recharge.

  • What if you are stopped by a law enforcement official and told to ride on the street
    instead of the sidewalk?

    Show them the letter that is with your scooter and then call us at FQS. Let us know the time of your encounter, the name, agency, and badge number of the officer.

  • What if I am in an accident?

    If you or someone else is hurt badly, call 911. Then call us at FQS. If it is a minor incident, call us and give us a heads up about it. Remember you are liable for damages to the scooter, even if an accident isn’t your fault.

  • What if I am in an accident?

    Just give us a call. We can reschedule the return time or extend your rental period. Both options are available at an additional cost. If we don’t hear from you before the appointed return time, penalties and fees will be incurred. Take a look at our price guide for more information.
